My apartment is the first door of my building off the side door, and the outside is crawling with potato bugs. They come in and down the hall and in under my door! Besides a door sweep, is there anything I can do outside or in the hall that can repel them?

Hillside is about 45 degree angle. Temps get to 90 - 100 degrees in spring/summer.We dont want the tree to grow more than 8 - 12 feet max or it will block the view.

Also, we're looking to replace the ice plant with a fast growing deep-rooting ground cover, preferably floral. THANKS!

I planted a Satsuma plum tree in a niche at corner of our house. It is about 3 ft. away from the walls. Tree has grown to about 18 ft. tall and very broad with branches reaching over into the neighbor's house and brushing and bending against our walls that I am now wondering if it will grow under and eventually damage our foundation.

After more than 20 years since the original tree expired, 3 small trees emerged. They were dug up to share. One is left and I need to know how to care for it and how long it will live not being planted. It is drying up at the bottom though in water. Help please.

I am interested in dividing up my backyard a little bit. To make it more like garden rooms. What kinds of plants make nice informal borders or boundaries? Currently I use boxwoods, blueberry bushes and grapes...

Many Thanks for your input. I can grow a wide range of plants in my zone.

I just covered my garden with a 4 mil thick plastic covering and put wood chips over that. I did it 2 years ago, but the squirrels, rabbits, and birds poke or dig holes through the plastic to get the worms underneath. I would really appreciate any ideas to keep them away before they poke and dig through so the weeds won't grow through. I went to Home Depot and seen a spray for just that purpose, but it was to expensive. Please help! My use-to-be garden is 15 feet by 22 feet.

We are in Atlanta, GA. The grass is brown/yellow now, it has green too, but the overall looks pretty bad comparing to my neighbors'. I heard that one can tell this by checking how color changes in the grass, brown from top or bottom, something like that. Could someone help? Thanks!

I have a nice begonia that is dying - do I try to salvage it by bringing it inside and trying to keep going or is this an annual that is going to croak with the season anyway?

Thanks!

Okay.

Here's a pic of it. Go here.

Yeah.. It started out as green, but then turned black in about 1-2 days.

Is it poisonous? A plant? A weed?
Should I keep it? get rid of it?

If you don't know, do you know any websites that can give me info?

Please Help if you can!

When it rains hard and constantly(as it does up in the northwest)
I have a garden that you cannot walk on. You can skid, slide good fun if you like that sort of thing! as the garage runs most of the length of the grass it stops the natural flow of the water. At the back of the garage there is a paved area. Since I bought my house 2 years ago i have tried most things and wondered what was making it so wet. None of the neighbours have this problem. Now I have lifted a paving stone up at the back of the garage and have found concrete a good 4" thick, apparently you put a dry mix down first so the paving remain even. I think this is stopping the water from flowing anywhere. But... My other half just shrugs his shoulders and says "i'm a chef what do I know?"
Anybody had the same problem and resolved it without moving or trading the chef for a gardener? Actually that sounds the best option. But I will try other advice to. thanks

I planted my Crepe Myrtle in June and it was flowering and growing. Since July the blooms have been falling off and it appears to be dying. Is there a way to save my tree? I have another crepe Myrtle to the left of it that seems to be doing the same thing. I live in CA so the weather is warm but the trees get plenty of water

I recently planted some mint in my garden and I was wondering if the mint would survive the winter and grow back or if it would be gone for ever. Thank you!
