"The garden serves as a place for remembering loved ones who have died, an outdoor sanctuary for personal prayer, and a garden for simply appreciating nature. It is also a place where human ashes have been mixed in with the garden soil; names of the deceased are displayed on a memorial plaque inside the garden."

A special garden planted to remember someone. A church might do one for a beloved minister who passed on. A town for a fallen policeman. Even a parent for a lost child. They usually have some kind of sculpture that symbolizes that lost one.
