At the moment my mum has an orchid plant in our kitchen and the last time it flowered was a few months ago but it's alive because it still has healthy leaves, does anyone know how often they flower is there anything to do in order to promt it to flower? I have an orchid plant as well in my room which I bought the other week and it has flowers so I don't think its anything to do with the season.............Thank you!

the flower blooms every few month but otherwise it is healthy so just put it in a nice corner and wait cause it will be a pleasent surprise to wake up one day and see brand new beautiful blooms!!
and no theres nothing you can do to make it flower, just be pacient.

Make sure the growing medium is right and the light it;s getting is also important. Orchids need to be fertilized in order to bloom. All types of orchards bloom differently, get a book if you are serious about growing orchids.

My mom is a gardener and she said you have to know what kind it is.......like cattleya,cymbidium,dendorium,miltonia,and so on ....and usually they only bloom once a year go to this site to get info on caring and if it doesnt help im sure you can find something online
