I would like to start planting for next year but our beds are just full of roots. We have got rid of all the leaves, branches etc above ground and i am wondering if i should make an attempt to get rid of the roots underground (there are a lot of them) or just go ahead and mix in some topsoil and start planting.
This is our first garden and i would really appreciate your advice.

I have seen these little things, while watering and then again in my dogs bowl. ( there were atleast 100) They are very very small and lite in color almost white, and they seem to jump. I thought they were some type of sand flea, because our house is mostly dirt, but the they are not ( according to the websites). Has anyone seen these and know what they are?

For a Schefflera plant, I am supposedly to have a soil that is mildly acidic but also alkaline. Isn't this a contradiction? and if not, how can I achieve this? What are basic additives and/or soil bases that produce acid and alkaline properties, respectively?

I have an indoor growing royal palm. I must be taking very good care of it watering it once a week and fertiziling every three months or so. It is now growing very large and I want to trim it down a bit. When is the best time to do it? Where is the best place to cut the fronds? Will the fronds if placed in palm soil germinate a new plant from the frond?

Do they still sell those genetically engineered seeds that only bloom into four leaf clovers? My mother in law said they used to sell them but I can't find them. Know where they are and how much?
