The leaves turned yellow & The corms/bulbs have started to rot off & smell horrible. I've managed to save parts of some healthy corms but anyone know what caused it & how to avoid it in future. I've not over watered it but it has been in full sun up to 30 deg. C.

What is puzzling me is how the snails know it's there? I can understand plants in the border, but this particular one is on its own and they have to travel across the patio to reach it. Do they have a sense of smell?

I have four clematis vines growing on a trellis and tree in my back yard. I am in Zone 4. They are doing much better than I expected, and have outgrown the trellis and become terribly tangled. What can I do to thin these out a bit? Where can I cut them and when? They are three years old. Any advice would be helpful!

Thanks!

I’ve heard that it’s composting without manure or any other animal stuff, it only uses plants for compost. I’m asking because I’d like to know how to make a Green Compost. Thanks!
(I only want to know organic methods ok people!)

I have three large potted houseplants that my mother gave me. During the summer I keep them out in our gazibo in the back yard, but during the winter I bring them inside so they don't freeze. Every year when I do, I get these tiny gnats hatching out of the soil. I believe I heard there is something I can put in the soil that will kill the eggs, but not harm the plant. Does anyone know the name of this? A non toxic or home remedy would be even better, since I have a toddler that roams freely in the only room that I can keep them in over the winter. I have no idea what kind of plants they are.

I have three types of herbs in my garden, two types of pepper, and tomato. I have noticed that something was eating through my pepper leaves and ignoring the tomato plant. What would that be and how do I get rid of it?

I've seen lots of home remedies (vinegar + salt) and advertisements for biodegradable, safe weed killers. Wondering if anyone has experience using anything specific to kill weeds, that is also non-toxic and safe for humans and pets. How effective is your remedy? What kinds of weeds/plants does it kill, and what doesn't it kill? Do weeds grow back easily?
