We're doing some timelapse photography of flowers opening and, not knowing anything about flowers, figured maybe you could help us out. Any recommendations on which flowers open quickest, how long it takes, and how I can accelerate the process?

My garden is bombared with earwigs. They are eating all of the petals off of my dahlias, sometimes even before they fully bloom. I tried to put beer out to trap them, it didn't work!

I also have 2 small children, and 2 dogs, so I would like to try something as non-toxic as possible.

Please help if you have any suggestions!

Thanks!

We cut our neighbour's tree with permission a couple of month's ago as it was hanging over into our garden. There is another part of the tree growing into our view at the back which has grown effectively over onto Council land. Can we cut this because it is in our view looking out on to the back as long as don't go on to their side of their view?

I bought half as many impatiens as I needed because I heard you can prune off the gangly parts (they were overgrown from the nursery) and "poke" them in the ground. Word was, the clippings will take and grow just as prolifically as regular ones. Has anyone tried this?

The dirt is primarily clay and water will not absorb very well.

I have two rows of sunflowers planted. The first row is about two feet tall with leaves larger than my hand. The second row, which was planted about two weeks later, is about six inches tall.
My problem is that there is a TON of grass (at least I think it's grass. The blades are wide but not thick) growing in the flower bed. It's way too much to pull by hand, so I'm wondering if there's any kind of spray I can use-- or even better, make at home-- that will kill the weeds but not the sunflowers.
Thanks!! :)

Whereas the leaves grow upward in the middle, mine has flattened or fanned out. I wonder will the leaves ever perk up again, or is this natural? Help ... I don't want to loose them!

We planted seed about 3 weeks ago and the grass is starting to come up but it seems like my lawn is getting infested with weeds. We killed the weeds before we planted our grass seed but now there are like 9749327947329 more weeds. It's ridiculous and my lawn looks like crap. I need help. We live in Minnesota and have an underground sprinkler system.

I planted a 2-3 year old purple plum tree, and it did not make it. I planted a second one, maybe 1-2 years old and its leaves are looking somewhat limp. Any ideas?

My soil is very clay like. The first tree is remove some of the clay and rreplced with top soil. I also used root stimulator.

I am interested in the history of this rose. I know it grows well in Tennessee and southwards, but I have not seen it in the Midwest. It should bloom all summer and has a wonderful fragrance. Is it featured in any rose gardens in the Missouri/Iowa/Wisconsin areas? Does anyone have experience growing it there? Photographs? Places where it can be purchased?

Many many nights I have lain dripping in sweat pondering the answer to this question.Small plastic/pottery figures in the garden...Is this a front for what really goes on behind the chince curtains? Pentagrams scratched on the wall, sacrifices to the dark lord Pan,dancing naked over flickering fires chanting evil mantras of sin? Or just harmless, lovely old ladies that like a splash of colour next to the water feature? Who owns these figurines of dubious intent? and why?

Are garden centres all over the planet blissfully unaware that they may be retailing the very icons of a dark satanic sect?
Is a 'Gnome' with a 'fishing rod' really a juju harvester of the souls of the lost, cast into the firey firmament?
Are gardens sullied by the filth of these pottery/plastic demons or am I in need of a short break in Majorca with a busty 25 year old swedish model?
