Earwigs are awful pests to the garden. Try starting with a systemic feed and pest killer like Bayer or Ortho in Spring. These are available at all garden centers and will be safest for your children and pets. Supplement with another feeding in midsummer--right now!
Systemic pest controls work within the plant--it takes up nutrients and pesticides in its roots and spreads them to the leaves. Naturally, this is not safe for vegetables and flowers you will be eating, but works great for roses and dahlias.

think the beer trick is for slugs, do ypu grow corn coz they love that!
Earwigs need and are very attracted to moisture.
Be sure to eliminate damp, moist conditions
Earwigs can be trapped outdoors in cardboard boxes baited with oatmeal or bran with pencil hole size entry sites punched in the sides near the bottom.
good luck

Lay on side or stick one end into ground a few inches several 12" pieces of bamboo. The earwigs will crawl into them at night. In the morning dump them out. If you do this religiously you can be done with them.

I believe that a lot of the time, the serial killer is a sociopath. To them other people are not "real" They are the only person who is "real" and therefore no one else actually matters or has feelings. Also, I have read many biographies on serial killers and it seems that they come from oppressive homes with overbearing Mother Figures.

hmmm I had a lot of luck with a dish of beer - within a few days 4 of them had drowned themselves! Are you sure you're placing it in spots they frequent?
The other thing you can try is diatomaceous earth - it is sold by Raid under the name EarthBlends. It is a fine dust, which on a microscopic level is actually sharp and jagged - it cuts insect's hard body armour and basically they dehydrate and die. It is perfectly harmless to people and animals - in fact they often put in livestock feed to keep bugs out of it. However you should avoid breathing it in, just like any other dust particles.
It can be put in and around your garden, around the perimater of your house, etc.
