i had a small fish tank without the filter, therefore i change the dirty, smelly fish water that contains fish food and fish wastes, etc everyday. My friend told me that if i use this water for my plants, it would be a great fertilzer. could this be true? what you think?

The plant is about three feet high, about five feet in diameter and is definitely a sprawler, as it's taking up a great deal of real estate. It has small, yellow flowers (about an eighth of an inch in diameter) that produce more leaves and shoots, serrated leaves in groups of threes, and has YET to produce any sort of fruit or vegetable.

The "sap" running through the stalks is extremely pungent and the stalks are relatively "fuzzy" in texture. Any clue as to what sort of plant this is? It doesn't really seem like a weed to me, but I could be wrong. Any thoughts?

I bought a Hibiscus plant last year and this happened constantly. The new buds would form but before they would open (flower) the buds would fall off the stem. It was in a clay pot and even when I would get flowers they would fall off very quickly. I ended up transferring the plant to the ground and am waiting to see what happens. So far, so good, and I have one bloom about to open.

This year I bought 2 new Hibiscus plants and the same thing is happening. The buds just fall off the end of the stem before I see a flower. When I bought the plants they had at least 1 to 2 open flowers on each plant.

They are planted in large clay pots w/ potting soil, get watered every 2-3 days, get full sun in morning and part of the afternoon and get fertilizer as required.

Are the pots too small, not enough soil? (I have put them in larger pots and than they came in when purchased), Wrong fertilizer? (It says for flowering plants like Hibiscus), Too much/not enough water? Wrong type of soil?

we received some gift ccertificates as a housewarming gift to Canadian Tire (for a lawnmower) and we are having a heck of a time decided which brand to get, they have some excellent deals on yard works machines but I have never heard of them and I am having trouble deciding whether to go with the Brand name (which is considerably more expensive) or the Yard works Self Propeller mower which is on sale until tomorrow for about 40% off.

Have a big patch of cane growing in my yard as a privacy fence, and need to encourage it to spread out further, where I want it, and not where it wants to spread. Tried digging up a new sprout and never found the end of the root. Any ideas?

I live in texas, 95+ degrees a day, no rain, full sun. The grass was almost completely brown the day it was laid down, now its about 50% green (after 4 weeks) but has many brown areas. I've been watering for about 2 hours at night or morning (it varies). Am I overwatering, underwatering? Help!!

He has broken several vaccums because he doesn't pick things up. I have to take it apart, clean it out and put it back together each time I go to use it. I have told him over and over "don't use the vaccum" but he still does. He says "I forgot". Now we don't own one so that problem is solved for now. On to the lawn mower. We used to borow one but he mindlessly ran into trees and over rough brush, causing damage to the blades and hood. I was so embarrassed. Anyway, I bought a new push mower, I set the mower to cut at a certain height, 3 1/2 inches. He has decided to lower it as low as it can go. He feels this will decrease the number of times the lawn needs to be cut. With the blades at 1 inch, this has resulted in my yard turning brown and muddy, where the grass has been completely pulled out from the earth. This morning I saw my front yard. Cropped to the dirt, huge piles of cuttings, I said it looked like the village idiot cut my grass. Now he is mad at me. Am I wrong?

Our tree is the only one in the Katy, Tx area that this is happening to! We have to sweep piles and piles of needles each day! What other than the temperature could cause browning and loss of so many pine needles?

Also, I can see these little holes all over the ground about as big around as pencil eraser or maybe a little smaller. Some people have told me to use that lawn tonic, that its just undergrowth from not airiating or powerraking, and some say it's mites or earthworms. I don't know what I should put on it? Please help!
