we received some gift ccertificates as a housewarming gift to Canadian Tire (for a lawnmower) and we are having a heck of a time decided which brand to get, they have some excellent deals on yard works machines but I have never heard of them and I am having trouble deciding whether to go with the Brand name (which is considerably more expensive) or the Yard works Self Propeller mower which is on sale until tomorrow for about 40% off.

Sounds like you are talking about a push mower. Look on the sides of the mowers. Most of them will say MTD or made by MTD. MTD makes most of your cheap brands of lawnmowers and most all of them will have a Briggs & Stratton engine. What people don't realize is there are different grades of Briggs & Stratton Engines. I would look at a John Deere, Toro, or mower that has a Honda engine on it. Those three brands should last.

Yard machines is mtd, troy bilt is mtd....... so both are the same quality..... the only good thing about em is the engine, briggs or honda..... both are great.

Price is about it. Only Honda offers a higher quality item.
