you could biuld a cover with some pvc pipe for the frame and use lattice work for shade ,that way they still get the sun through the cover but doesnt let the tomatoes get to much!and be sue to water every evening to keep them watered!i know whast you are talking about,i live in texas and its been 106 here lately!and i dont think a little shade is gonna hurt them!so long as you still let the sun through!

yeah tomatoes love heat...I have some growing in my garden and it's been HOT!! and they love it...Just water them...if you don't get up real early in the morning to water them, water them when you do get up but do NOT water the plant itself...water around the base of the plant so the sun doesn't burn the leaves.

also you'll want to water them in the evening as well to make sure they have plenty of water for the day.

If you think you have to, there is something called a floating row cover. It is a spun fabric .But how will the blossoms get fertilized.
It is more for covering cabbage and the like to keep worms off.

Tomatoes actually like the heat. just make sure they are watered every morning before the sun touches them, preferably before dawn.
