We have a couple of bird nests in our gutters and the birds are very happy to drop on our cars all day long. It's getting frustrating and they "have to go". Any ideas?

I rent a house, there is room in the backyard for a garden, but would require intensive tilling and other work. What are your suggestions for container gardening what works and grows best? Pros? Cons?

I want something that stays fairly small w/ smaller leaves. My sister used to have some that I like but we can't remember the name of them. I think it was "Japanese" something or another.

Please help to identify, I posted this question before But I still do not know what it is.
It has leaves like a cosmo,
it is about 6-8 inches tall
It has 3 round golfball blooms, no petals (at least not yet) the front of the golf ball bloom tapers off into a star, with very soft spikes all over the bloom.
The entire plant is apple green in color.
It is not a bladder campanion but it looks alot like it except for the feathery spikes.
I once gathered wild seeds from the forest here in Colorado, but that was several years ago.
What could it be? It is driving me crazy!!!

ps. sorry for my comments on my last ?..I am having trouble with y&a what I type and what is posted is differernt..words are missing.....weird!

I have a small collection of potted plants and herbs in my apartment. Since they don't get alot of light because they are indoors what is the best type of lightbulb to use to provide them with light? Is it expensive? Any other recommendations for a novice gardner trying to keep plants and herbs healthy without using pesticides or artificial fertilizers?
