I'm a writer, and naturally have paper all over the place. Boxes full. I need to get it out of the boxes and put it somewhere but I have no shelves, no drawers, no filing cabinets, and I live out of town, so going to a Walmart for storage compartments isn't really an option. I have plenty of desk space though. What can I do in the meantime until I get a filing cabinet?

About two years ago I had a beautiful brick walkway installed. Now I see a few chipped places. What product can I buy to fill in these chips that is the color of natural brick? I don't want to use cement and then stain it because it will look bad. What are bricks made out of anyway?? And where can I get some? I live in the Los Angeles area. Thank you.

I recently installed new plumbing in a fixer-upper that I bought. When the installation was complete everything seem to flow well except for the sink drainage. The sink drained so slow that I had to take everything apart in search of the problem. I found it, alright! It was a think mass of rust about a foot down into the drainage pipe. How on earth can I get this rust "gunk" out without having to have some plumber come in and rip out my walls and floor? BTW: I remodeled the entire second floor by hand, by myself so it would PAIN me terribly to have someone "rip" anything out, ugh!

I live in a VERY hot area and I'm afraid the belt would dry out and crack. Our garage gets super hot in the summer. Is it rubber? Nylon? Thank you! Also, is it worth it to install it yourself? Lowes charges $129 to install.

I seen these purses at a small store yesterday. It was like they had a collage on the front and back, but it seemed to be sealed with something to protect it from the elements. Any ideas on how to do something like this?

I figured out how to get it to sew but, can I back-stitch? Does anyone know where I can find a user manual for it? Or can someone at least tell me how to basically use it? lol. Thank you.

Just bought a home with a finished basement ~ however, the drywall is old, nasty & needs replaced. My fiance & I would like to do it ourselves to save money but we have never done it before. Also, people tell us it is a pain in the butt to hang drywall and we should just pay someone else to do the job.

Is there anyone ~ who is not a professional ~ who has had personal experience? All advice is appreciated.

Thanks =)

Is this something I should attempt to do myself? Are there tips or suggestions or things to be aware of before I attempt this project? Any advice about measuring or installation will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...

I've heard that if you take apart a drill (DeWalt, Makita) from one of the big box retailers and compare it to the exact same drill from the manufacturer, you will be surprised with the quality differance. Is there any truth to this or is it all hogwash?

I notice the higher end storm doors have two hydrolic closers. One on the top and one on the bottom. What is the advantage of this? It seems the door would be harder to open right?

I want to put some flooring down in the loft of my garage to make re-wiring it easier. Plus I can use the space for extra storage. The joists/rafters are 24" on center. I know that I could use 1 x 6s or something similar, but I am trying to figure out the cheapest/fastest way to do this without having to worry about falling through.

What do you think about using doubled up 1/2" OSB? Lowes sells it for $6 a sheet right now. Which is a lot cheaper than the $27 a sheet 3/4 plywood I was thinking of using.

I have a water well. The well services my house and also a rental house next door. The water is very brown but if I put it in a vase after a day or two it clears and you can see the sediment on the bottom. This sediment is causing major plumbing problems: the toilets get full of silt and the works inside have to be replaced frequently, the screens on all of the water faucets and the shower have to be cleaned about one a week and we can only guess what is happening inside of the water heater.

What kind a water filter should I buy? I Googled it but there are so many different kinds and types that I'm really confused. I need a really big commercial kind to go on the well, that can make sure that clean water is going to both my house and to the rental house too.

I just moved to a three year old house with a large fireplace. A cast iron wood burning/multi fuel stove would fit perfectly in the large opening. My problem is that the stoves I’ve looked at have six inch flue pipe diameters, while the clay liner coming from my chimney has a nine inch diameter. Will I need to have something fabricated or does anyone know a company that has an off the shelf solution that doesn’t cost a fortune?
