With all due respect; many of us are over 60.

My first suggestion would be contact the utility service that provides the means for a boiler to function. Then I'd likely go to social service agencies dealing with those of age/status/income/disability/ etc.

Yes, Since I don't know where you live my suggestion would be to contact your local senior citizens center, They have contacts that help people to get the things they need when they are on a fixed income or don't have much money. Where I live our center has fliers for the seniors with a contact so they jsut call that person tell them what's wrong and you get the things done around your house you need for little or no cost. The same thing if you need medications, rides to the store, legal help, help finding a Doctor and so on. Hope this helps.

Hi. it is possible that the person who told you that you need a new boiler is mistaken. Unless it is rusted through or completely silted up inside it may just need a service.

without wanting to criticise a plumber that I haven't met, some people try to sell a new boiler when the old one is OK. get a second opinion.

Depends on the laws in your state and county and if you are eligable according to their guidelines, usually more than just your age. Contact a Senior Citizens Center or your local Counsel on Aging for more information.

The only grants that I am aware of are those for upgrading to high-efficiency. Check with your gas company.

Its all about income Im well over sixty and cant even get help with my teeth. If you make less than $1100.00 a month you might ask your congressman.
