If I build a 4" thick concrete slab, 3' wide by 8' long, how much concrete wil I need? And, the bags of concrete are 96 lbs. How many bags will I need?

3' x 8' x 1/3'
= 8 cubic feet of concrete

if you have a bag of concrete mix it may say on the bag how much it makes . For my calculator it would be 14 80# bags of concrete mix .

If you are using bags of cement then you need stone and sand as well so it will be far fewer bags .
Your local hardware or building center should be able to tell you .

You will need enough concrete to fill 8 cubic feet. The person in the store should be able to tell you how many bags you will need to fill 8 cubic feet.

No offense Zeke and I won't strictly do the math for ya; but each bag, 60 or 80 pounds, etc. often/usually states on the bag its coverage,,,IE: 60 to 80 is approx 1.5 CU ft. All you need do is visualize division in that cu. ft. That being the case in your example you might get close to 3 sq. ft @ 4 inches

need 3 cubic yards, it says the volume on the bag
