I've heard that I should refinish the floors before I paint, because the refinishing could harm the paint on the walls. True?

If anybody knows where the best type of place to buy rope for a low cost is, please let me know and be very specific as to what you are talking about. I don't want some general answer anybody could give like "the drugstore" or something like that, I want the name of a place that I should go to for getting the rope and for the cheapest price!

I really like the chocolate brown leather couches that Pottery Barn sells, but I was warned off of them by a female friend who said that nothing says frat-boy bachelor like a leather couch. What do you think?

my mom and I are thinking of going in halves on a set of pine wood bunkbeds with underbed drawers. Here is a pic of item. http://cgi.ebay.com/TWIN-TWIN-PINE-BUNK-BED-2-DRAWERS_W0QQitemZ200180723547QQihZ010QQcategoryZ38188QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemCost with shipping/tax/shipping insurance would be $442. When we were out shopping around locally to avoid shipping, one furniture place said he would price match if I brought in online info, but when I mentioned one online was pine he laughed and said pine was junk he only sold oak. His was $573( even with free delivery).. I know oak is better, but the cost of pine ones are already a huge stretch of our budget to get my grandkids these beds....is pine going to not be safe? The salesman made it sound like pine would just fall apart. So I didn't know if it was his way to try and sell his, or if pine was really shabby product.

Such as bedroom furniture or sofas. Is it good quality or not worth the money?I have a whole house to furnish and need everything that you can think of.I'm sick and tired of spending money on things that I have to replace in a couple months.Even a good consignment store in houston would be great. Salvation Army can put outrageous prices on furniture pieces that they have.

We had our carpets removed a while ago and installed laminate flooring instead.

As a result, the house is not as warm as it used to be.
Will it help if I add R13 insulation in the basement ceiling ? Will it keep the living room floor (which is just above the basement) warmer ?

On the same manner, will adding another layer of insulation to the attic help in the winter and summer as well ?

As for the mositure barrier paper, if I understand correctly, it should be facing up both cases, right ?
