Hi, I have just purchased a small cottage. Currently it has a bathroom downstairs and 2 bedrooms upstairs. With the space I can have 2 double bedrooms upstairs, 1 single and a bathroom or 2 large bedrooms and leave the bathroom downstairs. Which would be best?
Also the stairs are very steep, would you suggest leaving them or putting in a spiral staircase?

I have an old clinker brick house and would like to add a couple of stained glass windows. I'm wondering if a person could do the cutting themselves with a masonry saw.
Thanks.

I watched the Oprah show one day and she showed a bed and breakfast place that had a nice quote painted on the wall above a master bed. Do any of you have a nice quote that would be fitting for above a bed for a couple starting out in life with a new relationship? I have also seen neat ideas in Pottery Barn of painting a monogrammed type look of initals behind a master bed. Thank you.

I would like to re paint my bed room, Im thinking a deep blue, something soothing and relaxing, but yet that will fit into my tropical theme, Im kinda going for more of a polynesian theme. I like the Dark browns with the tropical accent. If any one has any suggestions on what color to go with and pictures I could look at that would be great thank you!!! Also suggestions on how to paint like just the walls leave the celing white or accent colors for trim and celing or whatever!!! Thank you

I have created a website that allows you to choose any color and scent combination available for your candles. So instead of always having a yellow or green lemongrass candle - you could have a teal or red lemongrass scented candle! Would you be interested or you think I'm just wasting my time? ..... www.OnceUponAFlame.com ...Thanks!!!

My boyfriend is suffering from bachelor syndrome. Everything in his apartment is black, metal, white, plain and boring. He's scared of the idea of introducing color into the place. I'm scared of the idea of living in an all black & white home--it feels too much like a museum!

We're moving in together next month; what's the best way to compromise on the color scheme and decorating? The last thing I want is to be overbearing, but I'd like to introduce some color somewhere so I don't feel like I'm living in a bachelor pad/college dorm.

Navy Blue, Chocolate brown, Tangerine for example. They are all flat finish. I want to return them to an off-white flat finish. Iam willing to prime first, but I've done three coats of primer in one room and it still isn't white! Any suggestions on technique or brands?

Thanks,
Craig

My dad wants me to paint his gas station he owns with my little brother. It is a medium sized building and just because we are family doesn't mean i shouldn't get paid just as much or about that. My brother and i will split the profits. Any ideas? Any suggestions? Thank you.

The thing is that I bought a house that has 3 bathrooms on it, and the bathroom of the master bedroom (mine) has the toilete, bathtub, and sink in burgundy color. The other 2 bathrooms have the toilete and sink in baby pink. The 3 bathrooms have white ceramic floor, and beige walls. How can I redecorate without spending too much money?

Im using a belt sander to sand down the staircase and the skirting boards in my hallway, ive bought new sanding belts and they are the correct size for the sander, but everytime I begin sanding, after a couple of seconds the belts snap, ive spent a fortune replacing them and they all keep doing the same thing, why?

I want to do my living room in safari like elephants and tigers...stuff like that and I need help choosing a color to paint it. I'm also painting my daughters room and the theme is "disney princess." Should I paint it pink or white? My bathroom is going to be done in palm trees and I was thinking like a sage green. I need help deciding what color to paint my kitchen which is going to be done in "roosters" and my bedroom and thats still undecided. What do you think? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

When I was a kid everyone I knew had really beautiful soft sheets. Many floral patterns and colors were available as well as plaids, stripes and solids. No ironing, no pilling, just soft comfortable linens. I don't remember them costing an arm and a leg either. Why can't I find these bright pretty patterns now?

My son just bought a house, he has new - mills pride - put together cabinets from Home Depot. They were on clearance which is why he made that pick. We have to work with clearance and discounted items, but what colors should we be looking for? He favors muted colors, sage green, burnt orange, sandstone.

My home is a small 2 bedroom house (a little over 1000 sq. ft). The fireplace comes out soooo far from the living room wall it takes up a lot of space and causes an awkward flow. I want to remove it to add more square foot but im not sure if it will decrease the value losing the fireplace? thanks for your advice!

Ok I used to have a Bulliten Board in my room (corkboard), but the tape on the back ruined my paint. I want a bulliten board to just put pictures of my friends on that doesnt cost a hundred dollars. I saw one at pbteen but each piece cost like 25.00 each. That was crazy. My room is light purple. I just want a bulliten board that would go into a room that a teenager lives in. So if you could just give me a few links that come up with some Bulliten boards that would be great. Thanks
