we are looking for good quality, but not top of the line, carpeting for our basement...how much will this run us?

You can go to a Home Depot or Loews and have them price it out for you easily but you will have to pay regardless of who you use for the people who measure it out. We did an 870 ft. basement plus stairs for close to $3000 and we didn't buy the top of the line for that area....only the pad. Pads are very important...spend more there. But other high traffic areas you are going to want a higher quality more resilient carpet. Both of these places are good and easy to work with. You can look for other carpet companies as well but the choice in the end is still what you like and are willing to pay for in taking into consideration the areas you are carpeting and how they will be used. You have the choice of choosing different levels of carpet depending on the room and the use and can save money there.
