I use round up on my weeds, you can get in from a diy store in a trigger spray bottle. Give the weeds a good soaking on a dry day, they after a week go brown and dye. Hurrah! Lasts all summer. Great!

Round Up will initially kill both top growth and root. Then go for a long term non emergent weedkiller which will prevent reseeding.

I use Round Up for the tough weeds and areas. If you buy it by the gallon condensed, you can control the strength of the spray that you will use.
