Let's say, for example, that one got really sick and with a fever sweat all the way through the pillowcase into the down pillow. Now the pillow and bedding all smell. The bedding I can toss into the laundry and be done with, but how on earth do I get the smell out of the pillows???

I'm trying to find an eco-friendly way of getting an old christening gown white again. Right now I'm using lemon but it may take a few applications. I was wondering if anyone else had some good old fashion "remedies" too.

Had a metal trunk sitting on the patio and it got rained on. We moved it to discover a stubborn rust stain that refuses to come off with purex or clothes detergent.Any suggestions or proven remedies?

It's not bad, but there is a stain on it that I would like to get out or bleach. Do you have any solutions?

Years ago I had a Hoover, that used vacuum bags. My hubby found a rubber (or plastic) 4" X 1" bag slide.

After removing the disposable bag from the vacuum cleaner, one could open the vaccum bag at the top end to empty it and re-use the bag over and over by refolding the top 3 times and placing the slide clip over it, to re-seal the bag.

This meant that the disposable bags could and did last for ages (ever actually as I bought 5 bags) and only used 2 in the whole time I had the Hoover. It never came loose or damaged the paper.

However once the old vacuum died, I moved to a bagless model and chucked away the disposable bags (along with the clip). Does anyone know where in Adelaide one could buy another...or anything that would do a similar job, as I have just purchased a Kirby (Ultimate G AUS$780 from Cash Converters) and the bags are a bit pricey I've heard.

ok so when i dry my clothes after washing them, some of them shrink. how can i stop this? should i just air dry them? is it okay to air dry them on a hanger in my closet? (not touching other clothes, of course)& if i do that, i should leave the closet door open right? and maybe point a fan in front of it..?

please help and tell me what you think of my ideas!

thanks!

I have two oriental carpets I would like to have professionally cleaned. I live near Portland Oregon. Do I have someone come to my house or can I bring it to a cleaner. These are imported carpets and retain value.

It's not the filter or the bag, it's a HEPA filter. They're both pretty new,
