I like Howard's Restore A Finish or Fornbeys kit. Both are inexpensive, easy to use and available at the Depot or Lowes. The Howard's is a one step process and you can either get the clear or match the stain color of the wood. Simply apply with a soft, lint free cloth, let it soak in, wipe off the excess and the water mark will disappear. The Fornbeys is a 3 step process and has directions for removal of water stains, but is a little more involved. Both will resolve your problem with minimal expense, effort and without refinishing.

I've never had to try this but I've got it locked away in the ol' noggin for the day I will need it. Take an iron on the hot setting, and a clean, soft, lint free cloth. Place cloth over the water stain and place iron on it for only a few seconds, very brief. Lift the cloth and repeat until the stain is gone.
I've also heard you can rub some mayonnaise on it, let it sit overnight. Rub in off the next day and buff to a shine.

You most likely will have to sand it and re stain. Those type of marks can't be removed any other way, like the ring left by a glass of water or a drink.

I've never tried these, but here are two products that claim to work. Go to www.rockler.com and search for "water mark". It will bring up these two products:
Liberon Ring Remover
Restor-A-Finish
Good luck!
