I am assuming you have an animal or else you wouldn't have a flea infestation. What you need to do is to treat the animal with Advantage or Front Line...these products interrupts the flea cycle. This is the only way to rid yourself of infestation. The fleas will jump on the animal and die from the treatment. All that's left is flea corpses for you to vacuum up.

I feel your pain. I had this problem a month ago. I could literally just stand in my hallway and they would hop all over my legs! I;m talking 6-10 fleas at a time!!! I acquired them when my friend house sat for us. She has 5 outdoor dogs that aren't bathed or treated for fleas on a regular basis. She brought blankets to my house and along with that...FLEAS. What you can do is buy those home foggers. Follow the directions on the label. Treat your pets if you have any. I have 3 cats and 1 dog. I bathed them all then treated them with Frontline (the best in my book). Vacuum EVERY day for the next 3 weeks. Be sure to place a flea collar in your vacuum cleaner bag or tape it to the canister if your vacuum doesn't use bags. Another thing I did was buy flea killer for carpet. This can be bought at a pet store or a drug store including Wal-Mart or Target stores. But you need to do this religiously for 3 weeks. I was looking through my canister after I vacuumed and couldn't believe how many fleas were in there!!! Another thing I did (don't know if it ACTUALLY worked) sprinkled salt in my carpet, let it sit for an hour then vacuumed. I think the salt dries them up. I found a lot of flat fleas. LOL! Anywhooo, good luck! I know exactly what you're going through. Keep up on the Frontline for your pets if you have any. They're the carriers and when their fleas are maintained, it makes a BIG difference.

You need to first make sure all of your animals are flea treated. Frontline is the best flea medication in my opinion. If you don't have animals but you have a lot of strays that wander through your yard then you have a much bigger problem because you can't medicate every stray. They do have a spray that you can put in your yard that will kill fleas and ticks in your yard. Fleas will jump on your clothes and then end up in your house. If they end up in your house, like in your case, there are several things that you need to do. You need to wash all the bedding and toys in hot water. You need to lay a powder flea killer on your carpets and then thoroughly vaccum your carpets. You also need to get the spray frontline and spray your animals bedding. Fleas are so hard to get rid of that I always recommend prevention first. You need to vaccum your house often. Stay on top of this problem because fleas aren't picky about who or what they bite. Here is a good website to look at http://www.fleacontrols.com/inside.htm Good Luck!

It sounds like you've got fleas hiding in your yard and under your house. Get that area treated too.
Once that's done, use a powder on your carpet and furniture, and vacuum vacuum vacuum! Arm and Hammer puts out a great product for killing fleas and flea eggs. If you can't find this powder for whatever reason, I've found powdered laundry detergent works too.
If you've ever wanted to garden, there are a number of aromatic herbs that fleas don't like- that are also great additions to your kitchen.
Good luck!

Sprinkle table salt on the carpet, let it set awhile then vacuum up. Salt is a safe and cheap way to stop fleas.
Since it is easy and cheap you can do it as often as necessary.
Spraying lavender oil around also cuts down on fleas in the house and on the pet.

If there's a trick to removing fleas this is to bomb and then re-bomb. The flea eggs, which variety interior the tens of millions i will wager, do no longer die once you employ the 1st bomb. That kills the stay (or grownup) fleas. then you definately could use yet another bomb to get the hatchlings. examine the label guidelines heavily. it ought to tell you the quantity of time to attend between bombings to be maximum effectual.

Fleas have 4 life cycles- the eggs can sit dormant anywhere and hatch months later-

Drastic but necessary.
