I have two oriental carpets I would like to have professionally cleaned. I live near Portland Oregon. Do I have someone come to my house or can I bring it to a cleaner. These are imported carpets and retain value.

Oriental carpets should be sent out to a cleaner who specializes in cleaning them. Most will pick up and deliver. I send ours out once a year and I have so many that I send several at a time instead of all at once.

They give them a gentle bath, then stretch them to their original shape and size on a drying rack. They are then hung on that rack in a room with dryers that provide a constant temperature. Usually takes 7 to 10 days to get the rug back depending on the thickness of the rug. You can also have them scotchguarded.
