I have a room downstairs that is alwsy very cold in the winter. I was wanting to buy a standard electric baseboard heater. Do I just mount those and plug them in or do I need to buy anything extra?

I bought pretty sturdy screws, they're for wood as I was told and they"re about 3-4 inches long. I drilled a hole (smaller in diameter) into the wall, which the wall is made out of solid wood, so that the screw goes in easier. But when I put the screw in, after about half the way they don't go any further as easy as until here. When I put more pressure on them and try to force them in they just break in half, although the hole is pre-drilled all the way.

What should I do??

Thanks!

I recently got my side mirror of my Altima knocked off while it was parked on the side walk. It didn't get knocked off completely though, just hangin'. I went to buy some crazy glue to fix it back, but now, the next morning I found that there was some crazy glue that was draining down the car from when I tried to glue the mirror back, and it already dried. I tried to wipe it up, but it only made it look worse. How do I remove this krazy glue stain from the side of the car?

By the way, if you don't think that the side mirror will stay glued on, can you suggest something else I can use to fix it?

i moved into an apartment this year with gas heat. this is the first time i've ever had to pay for heat. i was just curious as to the best temperature to keep it at or if i should only keep it on at night, or during the day or what? i've heard sooo many horror stories about gas bills being ridiculously expensive i want to try and cut down if i can. would a space heater while i'm home be a better option? i also have a dog and a cat and i dont want them to get too cold either. please help! its starting to get really chilly!

I live in an old brownstone with big, drafty windows. I've heard people tape up their windows to prevent drafts. Does anyone know how to do this? Does it entail a lot of work?

To help do my part in helping to save the Earth by reducing the amount of hazardous pollutants I personally use and/or produce, I was wondering if there was a place online that sells natural household cleaning products (dishwashing liquids, bathroom cleaners, floor cleaners, etc). If you know of any books that have recipes for making your own natural cleaners or you have any tips on making cleaners it would be greatly appreciated.

We have a under-counter dishwasher in our kitchen. Two or three times during its cycle it emits a loud vibration sound. The sound lasts about one minute and then stops. It does not seem to impact how it is working, i.e. the dishes come out clean.

My current thinking is that the noise is coming from the water pump that extracts the 'used' waste water. It seems to match the duration of the noise and point in the cycle when the noise occurs. I have looked to see if there is something jammed in the drain holes, but there isn't anything obvious.

Does anyone has any suggestions? I thought I would ask before I go to the trouble of pulling it out from under the counter.
