Paint it "eminent bronze" by sherwin williams, and then paint the ceiling and any trim "ionic ivory."

Do you have any favorite sports teams or bands? Use posters. Or even paint a mural or two. Do you have any favorite colors? Use them.
A few months ago I saw a decorating show where the designers used skateboards to make shelves for displaying stuff. Maybe you can try that.
Don't forget storage. You probably could do some great stuff with dark shelves. Just don't forget to let in enough light so your room doesn't feel cramped.
You might want to go with bare floors and area rugs: Those are easier to keep clean than lots of carpets.
Take a look at DIY.Com for ideas, from making custom bulletin boards on up.
Good luck!

I just painted my spare bedroom different shades of brown. One wall is a choclate brown and the others are like a mocha. All my guy friends who have seen it have all really liked it. I would also get some dark wood furniture or maybe staind old furniture darker, it seems more masculine. Just look around at what you already have and find inspiration. For instance, look at your clothes and see if there is one particular color you wear most often. And I'm a big fan of keeping things clean looking with little clutter and sharp lines. Good luck.

My son has blue limewash walls (or turquoise would be nice).
He also has teak furniture: desk, armoire, bed.
Built in cupboards, white curtains, white (or black) leather office
chair and a large dark brown wool rug on dark wood floor.
The blue walls look beautiful with teak.
