In Britain it would be a tad under 14 square metres.

In the US it would as near as damn 15 square metres.

By rule of thumb it would be your best guesstimate.

3.657 square metres, go for 4.

To convert, first change the feet to inches (12x12=144)

Multiply the inches by 25.4, then divide the answer by 1000.

I hope this helps you... good luck with your new floor.

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you - the shop will know they're used to this kind of question.
