Should I use the rectangular attachment that the old one had or buy a round one? The round duct only measures 6in but hood calls for 7in.

We've only been here for 2 weeks. The entire unit was re-floored by the previous tenant with a 'seagrass' sisal type flooring. We have taken the responsibility ($) to cover the flooring with new rugs, but the kitchen still has the seagrass, which is dirty, impractical and stinks.

There was a leak in the kitchen sink area, which caused water to soak the flooring in front of the sink. Until the plumber could come, I put a bathmat in front onf the sink so that we could at least get into that area without getting our feet/shoes 'gooey'.To my horror, when I lifted the bathmat after a couple of hours, there was brown sludge all over it- from the wet floor. The leak has just been fixed (1 hr ago), but now we have a huge wet spot with MOLD growing out of if! I think this is extremely unsanitary, and possibly a health hazard. We'll be calling our landlord later, and I hope that she will decide the flooring should be changed. If she doesn't volunteer to do it, do we have a right to demand it?

I live in a 70 yr old house and anything thats touching the floor for a long period of time gets powdery mildew on it. Only around the bottom though. And my house smells kinda musty. Is it just because its old. Or what?

I just recently bought flood lights that is located in the garden (ground level) of my front lawn. These flood lights are positioned in a way that when it rains water may enter the open area where the base meets to point where it gets electricity.

I have decided to wrap the base area with plastic (and elastic bands to keep it secure) but can someone tell me ... is that safe to do...it will keep the water out but does the flood lights give off heat at the point of contact and so my wrapping it in plastic would be bad (no heat can escape)?

We have 3 puppies in the house now that are about 2 months old.
Stuffing and cheesecloth started appearing all over our house because the afore-mentioned puppies ripped out the liner under our bed and began to play in our boxspring.
My brilliant wife came up with an inexpensive simple solution to this problem that i wish to pass along.
We went to our local lowes hardware store and bought 2 4x8 sheets of lou-on (basiclly cardboard but tougher) for $6.00 each.
We had them cut in half brought them home, overlapped them ( no cutting for hubby! ) on the bottom of the boxspring and tacked them down with finishing nails.
The whole project cost us $12 dollars took 10 minutes and now our bed is puppy proof i plan to do the same to our sofas and chairs.
It seems like someone at a mattress company would have forseen the puppie scenario and thought of this already but since mattresses do not come puppy-proofed I felt obliged to throw this out there to the world. Wolf

I set up an avocado pit a couple months ago in water and now it has a very elaborate root system. I left for a few days, and I guess the water level dropped by a lot! Now the roots near the avocado pit's bottom look very dry and fragile. I instantly added more water. The edges of the leaves are turning brown. Should I move it to a spot with less sunlight? What should I do!

these can't be bigger than 24'x24'. It should be able to keep eggs from cracking, also with water containers that will not putrefy, nor feed become moldy.
Also it should have a method for easy cleaning that will not erode the floor of th coop and a natural air filtration system to eliminate odors.
When is cold chickens must be kept warm when is hot they must be kept cold.
And also the materials can't be too expensive.

I know these sounds too specific but this is for a project and i need i ideas in how can i design a chicken coop that can meet these requirements.

I Will Appreciate all the help Possible. Thanks.

I took a few seeds and planted them from an apple tree that is not a hybrid or some strange conventionally farmed tree. It is completely normal. How can I care for it and if it does sprout will it be the same type of apple?

I am having the hardest time finding drapes that I like...I cant figure out why I cant find anything, I see drapes in the store that are beautiful so i buy them and bring them home, hang them and they are ugly. Here is the most recent set I just purchased today...I need to keep them drapes closed during the winter because it gets really really cold here (35 below zero) and if i keep my drapes shut it stays warmer in my house. Tell me what you think of these ... they were expensive i paid $225.00 for them because they are lined for winter.
