These creatures come out at night and when you step on them they make crunching sound and curl up. Then even get into the house! What are they and why do I have them? HELP!!! They are gross!!! They come out on my front steps and there is hundereds of them!!!!!

I don't think you have worms, but whatever they are, try putting down some rock salt, like we use for ice on the sidewalk. If they have lots of legs they are probably millipedes (thousands of legs) or many but fewer than a lot they may be centipedes. Some centipedes (hundreds of legs) are poisonous so be careful around them. A good all purpose insecticide will probably kill off most of them as well and of course the all purpose use of boric acid powders but you may want to make sure you aren't poisoning things you want alive.

Millipedes. If you don't want to spray or poison them you will need to deny them food. If you have a lot of decaying material in the garden you should remove it especially around your front steps and entrances to you house. Most eat decaying material, others eat small insects and some plants. They favor damp locations.

sounds like Slugs to me. If you want to stop them from coming up on your house pour salt around the edges of your front steps. The salt will kim them and they won't go through it.

Instead of stepping on them try to collect them and then Fry it. They make great snacks! Very healthy with good dose of protein.

call an exterminator and ask for advice :). and or go to walmart and get bug spray.
