I bought a full grown hibicsus plant at the beginning of spring. It sits by my mailbox and gets almost full sun. It has done great the whole summer...beautiful endless blooms. Yesterday it was wilted a little so I watered it as normal. Today when I woke up almost a third of the leaves were yellow. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong;and how I can fix it before loosing the plant?

I have a space in my wall where an air conditioner was. I want to put something in the space that is easy to make, but attractive from inside and out. The space in between the outside and inside is about 6 inches. Any help?

I need to buy one yesterday! This time of year, does anyone know where I could get the best deal on a 7,000 Btu wall unit A/C? It does NOT need to have heating capability.
I sincerely appreciate your help on this.

Today I noticed that my dehumidifier was leaking. I have it set up to automatically drain, the drain connection was not leaking, and when I moved it I hear water INSIDE of the unit (not in the normal catch area), and when I tilted it Niagra falls came out, but I can't figure out where? I didn't even know dehumidifiers could have water inside of the sealed part? Any one know where the water actually is and how to stop it from going there so it won't leak? Thanks

We just moved into a rental house two weeks ago. Today I've noticed it's very sticky and humid inside the house. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary (I've taken a shower, cooked, and ran the dishwasher in the last 24 hours, but it's a 3000 sq. ft. house, so I wouldn't think that would make the whole house so moist). My AC seems to be blowing mildly cold, but not freezing air. And it seems to have been running most of the day. However, it was really rainy here the last two days. Should I think anything of this?

i have to hold the handle down longer then normal for everything to flush. if i simply flush nothing will go down. i took the lid off and flushed to watch it and when it was refilling water shot up, i mean like to the ceiling. also when i flush water runs down the side and there's a puddle on the floor. I didn't notice this problem until my floor started to warp. how simple is this to fix? and what should I be fixing?

So far, my watermelon plant has produced a large, sweet watermelon, but the other melons that have started to grow are starting to turn black at the end. I put a board under them. I keep them shaded with their own leaves. Or maybe they need sun. I water every other day. The vines are growing new leaves. I've removed the dead ones, but I still can't figure out why my melons are starting to rot. It wouldn't have anything to do with the fall season would it? I'd appreciate some help so I can try and grow another sweet melon.

Hello Y/A friends! I bought Non-stop orange tuberous begonias this past spring and I've heard you can store them for winter (In WI) and they will grow back next year. Can someone tell me how to do this correctly? Also looking for ideas in red, white and blue shade tolerant flowers for next spring. Would petunias do OK? They will get maybe 3-4 hours of sunlight daily. Thanks!

I have some ornamental pine trees in whiskey barrels outdoors. They seem to have turned a bit yellowish. Early in the season I gave them a bit of organic fertilizer (milorganite) and a couple of months ago a very light feeding of Osmocote. I water thoroughly once per week. They are in a semi sheltered area. What do you suggest?

Whenever we watch a British programme, we've noticed that the door locks seem to be about shoulder height, while here in Canada, the locks are just above the door handle (which is about waist high).

What's the reason for the height?

Thanks to everyone who answers:)

About a month ago, we found a foot-long brownish colored snake under the sycamore tree in our yard in Northern NJ. We came across a baby brown snake yesterday in the same location.

We origingally thought it was a northern brown snake, but all pics on the net show a different pattern. 'Our' snakes have a diamond shape pattern whereas the northern brown has two rows of dark dots along its back.

I'm totally freaked out - has anyone had a similar experience?
