dig the ground out level about 4 inches deep. stake out your dimensions....nail 2 by 6's into location......make sure that it is level by using a nail at each corner and looping a line across the top of the nails forming a X and hanging a line level on the string. Next place some small chickenwire on the ground and buy some rebar from home depot ...call local concrete provider and get about 2 yards delivered... as truck drops concrete place rebar in place and level off with 16 foot 2 by 4....hopefully you have an assistant..if not wear golashes and stand in middle and back you way out sliding 2 by 4 till concrete is level...next take a trile and smooth finish....if you are putting walls up sink you anchors in place before concrete dries about 3 inches from edge of concrete..to screw outisde walls to foundation.

A number of variations. One being ontop of that area graded level; weed barrier perhaps; rebar or wire at the least; frame it; and fill it.

If you intend a 10 x 10 you might consider help; even a patio party. No less than 1 person constantly mixing while at least one other pours and spreads. That isn't strictly the ideal however.

A 4 inch slab will probably be adequate and you can assume to do the math in that a 60 or 80 pound bag of PREMIX will do about 1.5 cu. ft. I'd probably rent a mixer.

Assuming that its going to be fenced in,you will need to dig down below the frost line and set your four corner poles. Two more holes will be needed for the gate.Dig the holes, frame it up with 2x4's-forget the re bar.Have a truck deliver the concrete to the sight and do it like a pro.
