Heres my problem... I have a flag and I have a pole. The problem is the pole is about 13 feet tall and I cannot get to the top of it. We are using this for tailgating this season and would like to hang the flag at the top, but we cannot climb the pole (its a light pole fixed in the ground). We used to stretch and use zip ties to loop through the flag holes and around the pole but we used could only get the flag about half way up... Any ideas on how to rig something to make it easier to put the flag up and take it down?

I was sitting in my house watching TV when I suddenly heard a loud "whoosh" noise coming from the bathroom. I checked and noticed that all three of the toilets in the house had no water in the bowl. It looks like they all suddenly drained and did not refill. What could cause this??

I did use the bathroom about five or ten minutes earlier, but it flushed and refilled like normal. Ten minutes later, all of the toilets suddenly drained simultaneously!

Seems like a basic question, but we live in the southwest .... new mexico. Our backyard has a lot of natural vegetation, chamisal, sage, wild flowers, etc. Our land is a birdlover's paradise! We're torn, removing old / dry & dead sage branches will result in some loss of the bird's environs and yet we'd like to propagate the healthy sage and other vegetation...What suggestions do you have.

Not long ago I posted about my clothes getting stolen from the laundry facility where I live. I recently saw this little boy wearing the exact same shorts that were taken. I told the office personal and they asked where he lived I told them and soon after they contacted the boys mother. But she said " How can I know what is mine? If we all shop at the same stores!"
She then told office personal that I was more than welcome to check her place. I get there and her daughter answers the door, why would you have your daughter answer the door if you knew I was comming. The entire time the mother is sitting on the couch, her back facing the door. I notice that the little boy is no longer wearing the shorts I saw him in, then the daughter tells me that her brothers are not allowed to go outside.
Ok that was the exact little kid, now there are no two kids alike...

What can I do about this?

Can I make a police report?

My house has a Central Air unit.
As is common for this unit (at this time of the year) it is collecting so much water that this possibly causes a problem with it's drainage system - My house has a pre-installed drianage system for this Air unit.
The 2 inch pipe from this unit going to my underhouse plumbing is begining to clog with the bacterial growth!
This pipe is clogged with this algae growth.
Will a dose of ROEBIK K-77 (tree root killer for spetic lines) work to clear this pipe?
The PVC plastic should be safe for the caustic chemicals (copper sulphate) in the Roebik.
I do use Roebik K-77 in my underground plumbing system, which does help keep the tree roots under control.
Thanks.

I Have a cherry wood floor, about a year old. It has taken on loads of dents from where we had guests wearing high heeled shoes. There are also various scratches. I guess I need to sand this down, but would I need to sand back to the wood, or will a light sand do the trick before finishing?
Is there any finishing products that will make the wood a harder glaze, so try and reduce the risk again?

I have installed new granite counter tops and one of my buddies was telling me / showed me how his granite chipped while doing dishes (sink is sunk into countertops). Now I know that I should be careful, but is there anyway of protecting the granite. I was thinking of something like a clear tape (kind of like how hey do car hoods), but nothing too gaudy.

Drains in a home is an environment in itself. There are living things in the drain. Ever notice the slime in the bathroom sink? That is a living mass. It is supposed to be there. Instead of pouring bleach or another caustic type material, get an enzymatic based drain additive from home improvement store. Pouring bleach begets pouring bleach. You kill the mass in the drains and it's not healthy for the environment. When the mass is dead, it must and will start to repair itself. Check out buginfo.com for more info and to possible find out what kind of bugs you have.

I have a chain link fence exactly on our property line, the fence is mine. He has some ugly weed like thing (non-intentional, he didn't plant it or anything) growing like wildfire on my fence. The plant itself is like an inch rooted in his yard....but it entangles my fence. Can I rip it out? thanks!

While radiator removed for decorating, valve started dribbling from its opening (no reason, as had been OK for days).
I went to B&Q to get a suitable brass blanking cap and screwed this in place with 4-5 turns PFTE tape (correct direction on male thread), but it's still dribbling, especially when I repressurise hot water system (which I obviously need).
Do I need to repeat with MORE turns of PFTE tape or try something else? (I know I will have to strip off this PFTE tape when i unscrew the cap)
