On the end of the spring should be a small cap that the flint sits on. If that has fallen out and the flint is worn down, the end of that spring will foul on the wheel. alternatively, lessen the pressure on the flint by unscrewing it a little and "bed in" the flint with a few flicks, then tighten it all back up and it should be OK.

Hi,I did not see anything mentioned about putting back a FLINT.The reason the wheel will not turn is because you are left with metal to metal rubbing together. You need that flint .If I under stand what you are saying that should take care of your problem. Good Luck.

The flint is probably lodged in against the wheel. If you remove it, you will see that one end is angled from the wheel scrapping it. Either turn it so the flat side goes against the wheel or install a new one.
