Cut trees do not grow- ever!!
You can buy live (living /not cut) trees however- they are sold balled and burlapped or in pots and those Christmas trees can be planted. You'd have to have a pretty large yard to plant more than a few Christmas trees as some species can get very large.

The link above sells live trees that you could plant outside after Christmas was over.

Most people buy trees without the roots. The roots have been cut off. The tree cannot be re-planted.
Your family is probably buying trees in containers. These have roots and can be replanted.

Are the trees you buy cut?
Or do they have roots?
Living Christmas trees are more expensive, & heavy so not as many people buy them.
My cut trees are usually losing their needles after Christmas & I never thought they had a chance of developing roots.
Plus in Northern Ohio, the ground is usually frozen solid that time of year.
I do agree that it is more eco friendly to not waste all those trees & I have a nice "permanent" tree now.

But it doesn't have any roots... How does it hold itself up in the ground without roots? If it works, I think it is a good idea, but I have a hard time picturing how the tree would be able to be replanted in the middle of winter....

If you're buying a rooted tree, yes...cut trees don't grow....but it's not a bad thing to buy a cut tree....after all, I live in the middle of three different X-mas tree farms......tress get cut, trees get planted, and there's always a nice forest around.

hi, properly thats a deep, thoughtfull question. i assume every1 is of an identical opinion that the solar rises interior the east, and the midsection could desire to overcome for a guy to stay and so on. yet those are obtrusive, obtrusive truths. some thing that every1 is of an identical opinion with? Hmm, I cant seem to think of roughly something like that on the 2nd... dying is an answer, and so is life. i think every1, even the main extreme non secular enthusiast is of an identical opinion that life is a product which might terminate if our needed organs end functioning. i assume there is lots variety that there is often some1 who tries to swim against the tide. each and every subject, each and every phenomena could be stated from an limitless style of diverse viewpoints and so, every1 interprets issues in any different case. yet it is the amazing thing approximately this international. think of how uninteresting and uninteresting it may be if all have been to agree on the comparable ingredient and there could be no opposition or annoying circumstances. i think the amazing thing approximately this international lies in its wealthy and huge variety.

I agree and so we use artificial trees to save cutting one down and possibly killing it.
I have never heard of planting a tree that has already been cut down. You say they live? Cool.

I always assumed that they where dead, but if you can still plant them and they continue to grow then you might as well do it. Or simply take it to a wood shop and recycle it.
