My shower and bathtub always get moldy-It is SO gross! I hate it. Then I have to occasionally re cauk around the tub and scrub it down and I cant even get the stained dirtiness from the floor of the tub up. What can I use or do to keep it from constantly modling?

Thanks Angelbunny-I think that is my problem b/c I only have a tiny little window in my bathroom and theres not one of those air filter things you can turn on with your light switch either.

All of the mold killer ideas are great. If you have another shower to use for a few days then there is one other thing to do the next time you decide to re-caulk the shower to have the best chance the mold will not come back. Make sure you thoroughly dig out all the old caulk and then saturate the wall all along the joint/gap with bleach and try to really get it into the joint well. Blow air on the joint with fans for a few dys to dry it out. Then recaulk it with a silicone sealant made for bathtubs and showers that has a fungicide and mold/mildew resistance.

Though bleach and water solve your problems temporary, you need a water proof coating to prevent mold that water can't penetrate there fore preventing mold. It is the only way.
This is what you need to do to permanently solve your problem. First you need to clean your tub's surface with a good etching cleaner like Top Secret Coatings Etching Cleaner, then use (a quart) Top Secret Coating's Primer and (a quart) Top Secret Coating's One Part Epoxy.
It comes in over 200 colors and looks amazing and last for 20 years without peeling, scratching, or wearing off.
Plus it is non-toxic unlike many of the bath tub refinishing paints sold, some use very toxic chemicals that can be potentially very unhealthy for you that don't adhere or look nearly as good as Top Secret Coating's One Part Epoxy.
Good luck!

I use WD40 to help out with mold in the shower and my bathtub. It is a good water repellent. Also another suggestion is to rinse the shower down with cold water after you take a shower and wipe the shower down with a dry towel. Dry the shower completely and you will not have mildew issues. Also I know someone suggested more air stirring I use a fan to help dry out my bathroom until I get the exhaust fan fixed.

In our house my wife keeps a bottle of Tilex beside the tub so rule is after every shower we spray the tiles so by the time next person showers it just runs off no build up of mould that way☺

Um... Ask courteously haha that's what i could do sparkling it your self? Sponge, scrubber, rubber gloves, face mask and a few bleach or mould purifier. do not combine the two tho cus there could be chemical compounds in there that don't combination. Its kinda difficult to not comprehend a thank you to do it... you notice the mildew, then you fairly scrub at it till it comes off, then ultimately wash off the chemical compounds and then take a bathtub. Its not unhappy which you're being informed to bathe it, I mean yea it sucks and you will probable finally end up cleansing it yet its not unhappy. WWII became unhappy, Somalia is gloomy... not your nasty bathe.

I have the same problem. I was told that i didn't have enough ventilation in my bathroom, so that was why mold grows. If you have a window in there, keep it open at least a crack all the time. And having a fan will help also. Good Luck :-)

We had this same problem with our caulking. We finally found a silicone anti-mold made just for showers...at Lowe's. Try looking there, it works great for us we haven't had to replace it and it's been almost 2 years now. Before we were replacing it every few months.

Window open, you can also spray some bleach with water after every shower on your trouble spots to keep it controled.
