Not long ago I posted about my clothes getting stolen from the laundry facility where I live. I recently saw this little boy wearing the exact same shorts that were taken. I told the office personal and they asked where he lived I told them and soon after they contacted the boys mother. But she said " How can I know what is mine? If we all shop at the same stores!"
She then told office personal that I was more than welcome to check her place. I get there and her daughter answers the door, why would you have your daughter answer the door if you knew I was comming. The entire time the mother is sitting on the couch, her back facing the door. I notice that the little boy is no longer wearing the shorts I saw him in, then the daughter tells me that her brothers are not allowed to go outside.
Ok that was the exact little kid, now there are no two kids alike...

What can I do about this?

Can I make a police report?

No sign has been posted in this laundry facility where I live, it's not a public. I am just upset that if she did it to me she will do it to someone else. But yes my strategy is to post a sigh in the laundry room giving a description of the my kids clothes, she can deney it to me but not to her kid's when they read it and realized they're mom is a theif and a liyer.
Parents have to be roll modles not criminals.
Making a police report would be impossible do to the fact that it's her word againt mine.
Yes lesson learned.

The mother's behavior is odd, but could be explained by her being angry at being accused of theft just as easily as her being the thief. I doubt that the police will get involved unless you can prove the clothes on other people are your stolen ones.

Which is not a bad idea for the replacements. Get laundry markers or name tags and go to town, marking everything.

The only other suggestion is to take pictures and document when your clothes are getting stolen from the laundry facility. If you have a camera cell phone that would work. Now that you know what the mother looks like document every time she is in the laundry facility with you and if you see the child.

You can make a police report, but any charges will be difficult without anyone seeing them/her take the clothing. The officer might be willing to talk with her since you saw the boy wearing the shorts. If you have any receipts or tags, that would be helpful too. Perhaps just filing the report will make her think twice about doing it again.
I also suggest keeping a closer eye on your laundry. I know, tedious, but unfortunately you will have to do it if you want to keep your things.

She is right. Unless you wrote your name on the waistband of every piece of clothing (not the tags which can be removed) you have no way of proving what is yours. Although inconvenient, if you use the laundromat, you take certain risks when you leave your laundry unattended. That is why they all have a sign stating "Not Rsponsible for damaged or stolen items".

There is no way that you can prove that they are your clothes. There are 1000's of pieces that are the same.I would suggest you just let this go and learn from this.Next time you are doing your laundry stay with it. Take a book along to read or something.

You could make a report but I don't think it will help anything. It's a lost cause because you have no solid proof. But there is a good thing at least the mother KNOWS you are on to her. Maybe she will think twice before stealing someones clothes again!:)

Well call it lost and move on.

I dont think there is much you can do.
He said She said Etc.

If you can move - seems a little extreme

or just go to a laundry mat where you can sit and wait for your clothers to wash and try.

It is one of those problems that there is no good answer.

There is nothing you can do, next time you decide to wash your clothes, maybe you should just keep an eye on them til they are finished. Instead of leaving them unattended.

There is no way to prove they are your clothes...the police won't do anything. I would suggest not leaving your clothes unattended at the laundrymat.
