You're outside a room that only has one light bulb in it in the middle of the room and there is only one wooden door with no window on it going to and from the room. There is 3 light-switches on the wall one next to another beside the door. There are no windows, cracks or anything you would be able to see into the room. You only get one chance to open the door and that's after you flip ONE light switch to turn on the light inside the room. How do you know what light switch turns the light on before you even open the door?

I tried to grow watermelons this year and the plants grew vines and flowers but no fruit. I had one little watermelon (about 1 inch big) and then it died. What can I do to improve it for next year? Also my cucumber plants made a few cukes but they were small.

I want to buy a chainsaw to chop up some trees in my yard for firewood. The trees are already down they just need to be cut. Any recommendations on a good (inexpensive) chainsaw that does a nice job cutting, and the best size blade that is needed?

ok to make a long story short i recently moved out of my apartment into my new home. when leaving the apartment we had to have the carpets professionally cleaned which we did by a local mom and pop operation that the apartment management had recommended. we lived in a pet friendly community and had 2 dogs and i also owned my own carpet cleaner which we used on the apartment once every 2 months. i also carpet cleaned the whole apartment before i left. now after the mom and pop operation did their carpet cleaning as was required by the lease i signed the apartment smells like stagnant water really bad. the landlord is trying to blame us for the smell but i did the whole apartment before i left and there was no smell and now its rancid as for when we did the walkthough. does anyone know if its possible to have that stagnant water smell from in carpet from anything other than stagnant water? the landlord wants to blame it on the pets but its not possible as did the cleaning 1 week prior.

About a year and a half ago, i planted 1 seed from a supermarket lemon in a pot (just for fun!). Well, the seed germinated and now I have a sturdy 9-inch tall lemon sapling. I was wondering if I should start thinking about fertilizing yet, and if so, how often and what kind? All help is appreciated! Thanks:)

"Teflon protectant" is worth purchasing for an additional 35 bucks. Is it worth it? Or is it just a B.S. add-on they try to sell you to bump up their profit on the job?

I am trying to identify a large collection of presumably antique china that was in my house when I bought it.

There are about 100 pieces, which includes serving platters, cups and saucers, dinner and dessert plates, bowls, cream and sugar pitchers, ect, all unmarked (no stamp or sign anywhere).

These are all white with a wide robin's egg blue band around the edges (about 1 3/4 inches wide), and metalic silver trim. It is obvious by the design that these pieces are very old, though I have not found a single scratch, chip or other defect with any of them.

Any knowledgeable info on age, maker, ect would be apprieciated!

Thanks!

I thought about a Boxelder but they attract bugs...I thought about a Bradford Pear but I would like something that grows a little quicker. I don't want a tree that will tower 80 or 100 feet above everything. Just a 25-40 foot tree.

I'm always a little leary about lawn chemicals. Also, I need to clean some oil stains off the driveway and I've heard that mineral spirits will take them right off. Is that okay with a well?

I'd like to do a mini makeover in my living room as I am so tired of having wall to wall carpeting (very difficult to keep clean when you're a busy mom). I'd like to put down new flooring but have a very limited budget. My biggest obstacle is the type of wood I have - it's not hardwood & there's tons of cracks & splinters & nails that just won't budge. I know I should have the landlord do it but it's something I want to do as a sort of "therapy" - my own little escape from everyday stress. I know how to put new flooring in but don't know how to prep this old flooring... thanks for all your help in my conquest for what will be a very interesting DIY project!!

For my October 20th wedding, i am wanting to buy the tiny mini pumpkins for the guests. They will also double as a seat tag as i am tying the guests names around the stem. My question is, how long do pumpkins last once they are picked? Can they be perserved somehow? In your opinion, how long should i wait to purchase and where should i store them until the wedding? Would a garage be ok?
Ok, well, that's 5 questions. lol
Thanks so much for your input
