"Teflon protectant" is worth purchasing for an additional 35 bucks. Is it worth it? Or is it just a B.S. add-on they try to sell you to bump up their profit on the job?

Don*t wasted the money; After your carpets are cleaned spray the high traffic areas with Scoth Guard; it is the same stuff.
If they guaranted the teflon coating for 6 onths or so it may be worth it but with an open ended guarantee I would not take that option. Ask how long they guarnatee is and just what it is for?

The treatment actually does work how ever it does not last very long in the high traffic areas.

Normal usage areas will remain protected for quite along time and helps against spills and makes clean up easier.

High traffic areas will see the benefit for roughly a month or so.

Teflon is worth it if you carpet is in great condition, It does not stop stains from occurring, It will stop them from being permanent if attended to quickly. It also extends the life of the carpet by resisting abrasion.

I've just had a few estimates done for carpet cleaning yesterday and the guy told me that getting scotch guard is a rip-off because the product is mostly water... You can get the same stuff in a can and spray it yourself for pennies... good luck

The stuff works wonders!
$35 seems a bit high. I charge an additional $5/room for the treatment. (Assuming the rooms are of average size.)

im not too sure, ask them eexatly what it does, if it sounds like there just walleling along them dont get it!!
if you can spare the 35 dollars then ewhy not eh?, it wont do any harm!

i was think ing about getting my carpet cleaned because its filthy and its years old and never been cleaned!!, i dont know how effective it would be though, seen as the carpeting is like 12 years old or something!!!
