I'm always a little leary about lawn chemicals. Also, I need to clean some oil stains off the driveway and I've heard that mineral spirits will take them right off. Is that okay with a well?

I'm not using lawn chemicals. I'm leary of them, therefore I haven't used them.

Most well water is drawn from a deep aquafer. Extreme use of any chemical could cause water problems. Aquafers run for miles so chemicals used elsewhere could be introduced to the water. If worried, have your water tested. Powdered laundry detergent placed on oil stains and then moistened and let to sit will often remove them.

YOU SHOULD TEST YOUR WELL WATER ONCE A YEAR. YOU BRING THE SAMPLE YOURSELF, IT IS CHEAPER. YOU ARE USING LAWN CHEMICALS AND WONDERING ABOUT MINERAL SPIRITS? NOT TO BE COMICAL BUT MINERAL SPIRITS IS SAFER. BETTER GET THAT WATER CHECKED, BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY. IMPROPER WATER CAN NOT ONLY MAKE YOU SICK BUT WROUGHT YOUR TEETH FASTER.

I'm not sure but you can always have your water tested by a local water company even if you don't use their services.
