I would like to put some shrubs in this fall, I live in Illinois. But when do I buy and plant? In the spring, I see shrubs at all the home stores but I dont recall seeing them in the fall. Have I overlooked or is it hard to find shrubs in the fall, do I need to wait until spring?

I have noticed that mobile homes have a few odd differences from houses.

1. The doors are different. Why are inside doors an inch or two off the floor?

2. Why are the locks different?

3. Why are there dividers on every wall about six inches apart? I am talking about on the outside of the wall.

We planted "yellow cucumbers" in our garden this year, and they are just now starting to come in. We have noticed that on the first fruits that are starting to set, that the skin is very bumpy almost even priclkly (more so than any cucumber that we have ever grow before). I was hoping that someone could tell me if this is normal or not. One other piece of information that may help, the row of of Yellow cucumbers, is directly next to a row of Armenian cucumbers. Thank you in advance for your time.

Heres the deal, Just bought a house and the duct work is in the attic. once we started moving in we noticed water dripping from vents in ceiling. Well we went and bought duct work insolation and reinsulated everything, In the process we noticed water damaged and what do you kow we ended up with a hole in the middle of the living room ceiling. Well we got that repaired and got all the insolation done. Water is still dripping and is starting to make water marks on the ceilings around the vents. We have ventalation up there and have rechecked our insolation work and everything is covered and tight. I really want to get this figured out before we have more water damage to the ceiling. No one seems to know why it is still dripping So if anyone can help me I really need it. PLEASE why could it still be dripping?????

How do you get rid of smell of decomposed meat from a car?
Yes t is gross. I left a bag in the trunk for 3 days and it turned so nasty! I got rid of the bag and the flies but the smell of the trunk went right inside the car. Even washing with tilex didn't help. What do I do? HELP!

I just moved. I was living in a small 2 bedroom home, that stayed very cool when using the CH&A. The house I live in now is 3 bedroom, 2 full bath, with large living room & large kitchen. I noticed that it gets awfully hot in here. The CH&A unit is about 1/2 the size of the one that was at my smaller house. I can't convince the landlord that something is wrong. I'll have it set on 66 & it will be 80 degrees in here. The other day, it was 95 in here! He came & looked @ it when it was early in the morning & wasn't so hot. He had professionals come out here 3 times. The last time, they told us it needed replaced. But then he came & said it didn't. If there is a certain size or "specification" CH&A unit that is recommended for this size of a home, please tell me what it is & where on the unit I could look to find out what size the one that is here now is. I'd like to give him a professional's opinion. Thank you!

I plan to buy a front-load washer, the salesperson said that I should also get the base for $200. I wonder if I can get the washer without the base to save money. What's the base for? Should I get one?

I am fairly certain there is leprachaun in my pantry. I've been calling him Elvis. He leaves me small presents and it's getting annoying. Who does he think he is? Last night he left me Chinese Handcuffs that you put on your finger. I used to bond for hours with my sister with those. Kind of bizarre he'd leave them. I think he knows me mighty well. So bright idea, I try to catch him without harming him. I put rubber cement on a chocolate graham cracker. Today, the trap is empty.and the graham cracker is gone. I am out a graham cracker and have no leprachaun. Oh, and brief sidenote 'cause I'd rather not catch a scoldin'...I used non-toxic rubber cement. So, what in the world am I doing wrong?

They are fruit trees about 8'-10' tall. They were purchased last year in about 5 gallon tubs and these people put them in bigger tubs.

Here's what I've got and done so far...

A lobelia Hybrid "Luguna compact with blue eye" and a "sunbeam kordana rose" both planted in 8 in terra cotta pots(with drain), on the ground in semi-shade.

A Calibrachoa hybrid "superbells tickled pink" planted in a hanging tin 6 in planter(with drain) hung in direct sun

A mini-spider plant and tiny-fern both in 3 in ceramic pots (no drain) in shade

I planted all 5 plants in Miracle Grow potting soil.

So here's my questions...
1. would the spider or fern do better indoors? and do they need draining or larger pots?

2. How often should i water each of them? Do any of them need plant food?

3. It's already fall so will they still be alive this winter? (I'm in SoCal)

4. If they die for the winter (1st 3 say annuals) When will they come back, do i have to do anything to them to make them come back?

5. Please! anything else I should know, I'm really new to this and don't understand alot of garden-lingo yet,

Thanks!
