We planted "yellow cucumbers" in our garden this year, and they are just now starting to come in. We have noticed that on the first fruits that are starting to set, that the skin is very bumpy almost even priclkly (more so than any cucumber that we have ever grow before). I was hoping that someone could tell me if this is normal or not. One other piece of information that may help, the row of of Yellow cucumbers, is directly next to a row of Armenian cucumbers. Thank you in advance for your time.

All cucumbers have those warty bumps with pointy black stickers. You just wipe them off and they are gone leaving a cucumber that looks like the one in the store.

Are your "yellow cucumbers" lemon cucumbers? They are round in shape. They will, of course, be prickly like all cucumbers but seem to be more than most other varieties; at least mine always have been. They are also very heavy bearers. I've planted them intermingled with other varieties, makes no difference as far as I can tell. Enjoy.

of course its normal, dont worry about it, when you harvest rinse with cold water and use a vegetable brush on the pointy bumps.
