how to decorate a teen bedroom?

Question

i am re-doing my room and i want to know what i should buy. i am going shopping at wal-mart, jcpenny, dillards, sears, and possibly target. what should i buy from there that's cute for a teen girls room. and i can't paint my walls.

P.S. i love purple, and i play basketball (but i am not completely sporty), and i cannot have curtins (i have cats) and i have a carpet.

please help me! thank you!!

also get your team to sign a ball and put it in your room.
if you have 2 night stands put one one eather side of your bed.if you dont have a fish tank you should get a cheap one from petsmart and put a lot of cute decore but dont put in fake plants they look cheesy. and put that on your dresser.oh yea on your night stands one put an alarm clock and the other put a pic fram. and you can alwys buy blank cavises from wal mart and paint them(i did that).

but basically i was thinking of and all white room with purple accents every where. it would look really cute and ellegant.

A really classy look if you like modern is to combine pastels with chocolate brown. I have seen many color combos and all are very pretty together, esp with splashes of cream or white.
So I would get several sets of sheets, one in each color: Lavender, brown, and white. And then mix and match the pieces each time, instead of using one whole set at a time. Then see if you can find a cool comforter that ties all your colors together as well as different textures and sizes of throw pillows. You can also make curtains out of pretty bedsheets. Open the side seam of the top hem on a flat sheet and send a curtain rod through it. OR use the clips that turn any piece of fabric into a curtain with no altering the fabric.

Also remember your functional items can be pretty. Look for snazzy looking organizing containers, desk accessories, etc.

You may not be able to paint your walls, but you may be able to paint some other stuff in the room...a bookshelf, a night stand, any furniture that isn't a valuable family piece. Talk to the parents and see if paint is allowed anywhere in the room because paint gives you infinite choices, and it gives the most bang for the buck.

I would buy a purple bedspread and buy black round pillows for the bed. And maybe a deeper purple on also. I woud then buy a new lamp if it is in the budget. Target and Walmarts have some funky ones out now. You could get some black crates for your books and shoes. If you can't have curtains maybe you could do a valance in black and purple stripes. You don't have to paint your room but you could make large med and small dots out of poster board. I would do them in black and lime green and maybe one or two out of purple. Make as many as you want. Use a plate to trace around to make your circle. Make the large one about the size of a basket ball. Then have some med (use a saucer and small (use a glass). You can buy something called sticky tack that you buy in the school supplies. After cutting out your circles put sticky tack on the back. Put them on your wall like the balls bounching. You can then get a rug. Get one of those fuzzy ones. Either color. Then jazz everything up with a touch of lime green here and there. Like maybe picture frames, boxes, vases another pillow,or maybe your rug. Mix it up. Have fun and do what you like!

ok well make this room very creative and cute but not to glitzy so i am thinking really cute purple lavender bed spread and some cute pink throw pillows get like a cute bulliten board that you can put pics on and stuff get some bastketball posters and make the room what suites you and it will be very comfortable

ohh, maybe some fun leopard/zerbra print ( i did that in my room, w/leopard!!) or some hot surfer guys to decorate your walls with! maybe if not too pricy a surfboard, cut out.
