My plumber is dumbfounded. Once the thermostat triggers the pump to turn on, the heat turns on. Once it reaches the right temperature in the zone, the termonstat sends the signal to turn off, and the pump turns off. However, the baseboards remain hot, and the temperature in the zone continues to climb. I have to manually close the valve on the pipe in the basement to kill the heat. Once cool, I can open the valve again and everything is fine, until the heat is triggered to turn on again by the thermostat.

We just had a new concrete deck put around our pool yesterday AM, the dogs walked all over it last night and left little white foot prints all over it, i thought it was just mud until i went to wash it off today, the foot prints are still on there... Will this eventually fade Or is it ruined?

Is there some kind of internal adjustment to prevent a good solid flow of hot water? Perhaps some kind of anti-scold mechanism? I know that my shower was hotter before installing this new faucet. In addition, I have a dual shower, I installed the same exact model in both locations and both of them only get warm, not hot.

Thanks Plumbers!

I need to save space and can't decide whether to buy the space-saver bag which you use with a vacuum cleaner (to suck out the air) or one of the hand-rolled compression bags. What's your experience of them? I was going to buy it from Argos.

It has been pretty dry here in the Chicago area, but I water daily. I think it might be some kind of a disease but I sprayed a disease/insect treatment about a week ago and it seems to be spreading from one pot to another now. Any advice?

My aunt is wanting me to move in w/ her into her 3/1 double wide mobile home. She wants to convert one of the bedrooms to a bathroom. The place is at least 14yrs old. It would be a full bathroom. I'm thinking at least a few thousand. (Not worth it!!)

I've been offered (free) a set of hardwood french doors, with double glazed units in them. The glazing units have the 'kite' mark on and the gap between the two panes only looks about 1cm at most. They're georgian style with 18 panes of 30 x 30 cm each door. would these be up to modern day building regs?
cm at most.

I paid $450.00 for a site evaluation and afterwards found out that I'm gonna have to get a mound system. After I talked to the site evaluator she said she was looking at the map and it looks like my land is better in certain areas than others. Couldn't she have told me that I'd probably have to get a mound system from just looking at the map instead of doing soil core samples etc..?

Hi,

We have a wormery at the bottom of our garden to compost kitchen waste, but it is full of little black flies that swarm up when you open the lid.

Its been getting worse recently, and we've been noticing more flies in the house as well.

We think the worms may have died, and are trying to get hold of some new ones. Could this cause the fly invasion?
