We adopted a 5 month old jack russell terrior/mix a month ago. He's really smart and was house broken within a day or two. He has slept through the night in a crate since day one. I understand that he is teething so he wants to chew on everything. Including the wood trim on the house, the plants in the yard, furniture in the house and on and on. Along with chewing on everything he has completely destroyed our yard. Runs through the beds, gets muddy and then goes into this hyper state of flying around the yard at mach one. Tearing through the flower beds ripping it up. Then he rests in the beds. Lays all over the plants, chews on them.

Help! How can I keep him out of the flower beds? Any suggestions? We've tried several pet shop remedies that do not work.

I have a nice planter that surrounds the base of my mail box & EVERYTIME I plant nice flowers or something in there and it is doing really good, this stupid dog from up the street comes and craps in it every time! I have seen the dog do it, the stupid thing litterally backs right up to it and poops and then lifts his leg to the flowers. My zinnias I just planted are now dying from the urine. He doesnt seem to bother it when there are no plants or if they are dead. I am getting sick of having to replace the plants in there & I cant find out who the owner of this mutt is! What can I use to deter the dog from pooping & peeing there?

Here is a picture here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lilium_bulbiferum . In my area in Canada they are wild, and sometimes invasive. I found about 200 flowers on the side of the road and of course I picked a whole bunch of them. How can I take out the bulbs and plant them? I know that they will most likely die, but they will grow again next year right? How do I do it? Any tips? How long to they bloom for usually? Do I just take the bulb only and cut the flower stem off, or do I just leave the stem and flowers on? Please help! Thanks in advance.

My husband bought roses for our garden. He told me after the roses bloomed to cut them in an angle and they'll grow back.
Is that true?

Is there some sort of treatment you can apply to an older roof to prevent a moss buildup? I've made an offer on a house and the home inspection raised flags about the roof. The roof is about 13 years old with an expectancy of 15-18 years (WA state). We have requested the owner do repairs to the beat up shingles, but I'm curious if there is something that can be applied to combat the moss.

My bathroom hasn't got any ventilation and my shower curtain is made of a plastic kind of substance(I don't know what you call it!). Even though I straighten my shower curtain after every shower, it collects mildew/fungus kind of substance and has got black spots all over. I am not sure if I can wash it in the washing machine. Any help will be appreciated.

I have a digital clock that was made in 1991 and it keeps terrible time. In two weeks it will be at least 10 minutes fast. Is there anything I can do to make it keep better time other than reset it every couple of days?

I have a garden flat and am overlooked by the flat above. It is a large garden. I am not that keen on those plastic type gazebos. Plus I don't want to fill my garden with shade.

My client bought a bananna tree about 2 weeks ago. His plant guy was supposed to come and take care of it...anyways, I found some soil, pot it in a big pot and water it every 2 days. Oh yeah, it is quite hot here, lots of sun.

the leaves are curled up, please give me advice to cure this tree.

Last year, the house we live in was required to give up its septic tank and hook into the new city sewers (we already had city water). My hubby and I did not own the house yet, so the old owner had the sewer hooked up. I wanted one of those thingies put in the line that keeps the sewer from backing up into the house (prevents flooding). But the old owner didn't have it done.

Now we own the house and are responsible for everything. I have been through a flood before (caused by backed up sewers) and I never want to go through that again. It would devastate our lives. We aren't in a flood-prone area, so my only worry is that sewer line. Should I pay to have the line dug up and one of those thingies installed? I know it costs about $75, but the labor would be a killer!

Any thoughts on this?
