Hello =) Corpses of dust mites, and dead human skin, yes..... It depends on the type of mattress, and the fabric that covers it. The same is true of sofa cushions. If you have no allergies, there is no reason to replace it just because of that..... You don't even want to hear the horrors of what is in your wall-to-wall carpeting....if you really want to do something to improve your health, start by getting rid of that, and replacing it with hard floors and area rugs that you can beat and replace as needed. I understand they get full of dust mites and stuff. I thought it seemed heavier because I'm getting older and it's getting harder to turn it. You can vacuum your mattress just like your carpeting. I also spray mine with Odoban(from Sam's) when I change all the bedding and let it dry under the ceiling fan. I think it helps but who knows.
