Yes, most seeds do need light to germinate. they also like to be kept warm. If you do not have a nice sunny window to set them in than get a grow light.

In nature seeds are only covered by dead leaves and they germinate. The weeds first of all. Acorns, for instance, germinate with light or without. They've got the power!

It depends on the plant. Some plants need light to germinate and some don't. What kind of seeds ar you trying to germinate?

NO, seeds do not need light to germinate. If you put them in a zip lock bag you can get them to germinate. I learned this in 5th grade and have allways used this method because they germinate faster. Read the link I put on here tells you how to get a seed to germinate in a zip lock bag.

well it depends on the plant. if you planted your own seeds, look at the package that you poured it from. it should say how much daylight it needs. but most seeds do need watering daily and sunlight to start growing. g'luck!

Seeds are buried in soil. No light. The only reason for light is to add temperature. I keep my seed containers on a heating pad. Moisture is also important.
