My hot water heater broke recently, and after having the pipes turned off so the heater could be replaced, the plumber said the water would be rust for a bit, and just to run the water. Why is it that water comes out rusty after having the pipes shut off??

I have heard that there is a rare Plumeria that was cultivated by the royal family of Hawaii that has black blooms.

I heard this from a plumeria cultivator in Florida who said that a friend of his had aqquired one of these rare cuttings and lived in California.

Has anyone heard of a Plumeria this color?

I am also having an air conditioning guy make me ducts in my garage so that my garage will be cool also. I guess this would make my total cooled space about 1800 sq feet. I currently have a 3 ton unit but i had 2 different companies come and give me estimates and neither pushed it on me but both said I "MIGHT" need a 4 ton unit to keep all the rooms as cool as I'd like to.

One quoted me about $3300 for a 4 ton i forgot what the brand was and the other brand was a trane 4 ton for $3600

Any thoughts on this?

This is my first time growing tomato plants. I have five different varities (Early Girl, cherry and three other kinds). Each plant is loaded with tomatos. Someone told me if I cut back on watering then the tomatos would ripen. I thought tomatos took a lot of water. I only water first thing in the morning and when the sun goes down so I don't put them into shock. Does anyone have any tips on growing big tomatos? Please help!

The last owner of the house i just bought has some nice roses at the end of the front yard, but the neighborhood kids like to pluck the rosebuds while i am gone or at work. How do i move the roses from one part of the yard to another without having them die on me? Can I just cut the stems and put them in the ground and hope they grow roots lol. As you can tell I know nothing about gardening, please help.

Ok I have my final walk through for my apartment tomorrow afternoon. The base oof my shower has tons of little dots to give it the textured look. Last night I tried soft scrub twice, this stuff called the works twice, ajax twice, and the mr clean magic erasers twice and it just wont get clean. There are also hard water stains all over my sliding doors (I do not think they are glass but are a plastic type material) and there are even hard water stains on the metal! used windex and this oxy shower cleaner on the doors with poor results, I also dont know where to go to get a good scrubber brush! Bought one that was green and left little green things all over the place, and home depot didn't have anything I thought was strong enough! PLEASE HELP!!

I love my recliner. I can sit on it and melt away. I tried to take care of the leather but I guess i didnt do enough. The leather is tearing appart. Using Nu-Vinyl repair isnt an option. I'd ilke to reupholster it with some kind of fabric but most books on the subject are vague or expect you to have some knowledge on these things. Does anyone have any info on an illustrated step by step instructional of reupholstering a recliner?

Thanks so much!
Al

I've got a simple portable 3-speed fan heater at home - it's called a Magic Line, Model 104 - which has stopped working. I object to just throwing it out and buying a new one and would therefore like some guidance to try to fix it. The switch, the element, the thermostat and the basic wiring all seem to be fine. There's a small component near the motor (it could be a capacitor) that may not be working, but I'm not sure. Where could I find further information (wiring, etc) to help me to try to get it going again? Thanks. Errol

I just got a 550 sq ft apartment. Is it best to run the central a/c constantly at a certain temp or shut it off or raise the temp when I'm at work? I am hearing mixed things--what's the best way to guarantee the lowest bill? Also, would there be big difference in the bill if I were to set it at say, 75 degrees or 70 degrees? I'm in Florida. Thanks!
