I have heard that there is a rare Plumeria that was cultivated by the royal family of Hawaii that has black blooms.

I heard this from a plumeria cultivator in Florida who said that a friend of his had aqquired one of these rare cuttings and lived in California.

Has anyone heard of a Plumeria this color?

I have found a picture of a very deep red that was almost black and then some that were blue and pruple but not this one that is supposed to be all black.

Black Plumeria? (40 k)

I found a picture this still looks to be just a really deep red one but it is very dark and as close to black as I have ever seen.

We raise Plumerias in Arkansas (very carefully) and I have not seen a black one either. Here is a link to most the colors available.

Being born and raised in Hawaii where Plumeria's are abundant, I have never heard of such a flower. Usually I've only seen the yellow, white or red types.

I haven't heard of this color but would love a piece of it. I also live in Fla. and I have the pink standard Plumeria in a pot in my lanai.
