My best friend came over last night because we were throwing a dinner party. While she was getting ready she accidently left her curling iron on all night while it was laying on my white carpet in my room. Surprisingly my house didnt catch on fire but when she came back up and realized her mistake we found, not to my surprise, i pretty big orange burn mark on my carpet.

The carpet is fairly new and we are also trying to sell my house soon. So Im sure people arent going to be too pleased when they see a giant burn mark on the carpeting. Does anyone have any information on how to remove it or how to disquise it? The burn is basically in the middle of the room and it will be hardd to place anything over it without someone tripping and falling. Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

We have absolutely No shade in the front of our house (we face the west) and we are in west Texas.
We get 10-15 mph hot southwest wind also.
We DON`t want cacti.
We DO however want something a little different than everyone else has i.e. Morning glories, wildflowers, honeysuckles, etc.
Thanks!

I picked up a motion sensor from the store, opened it expecting to see a normal electrical plug on the end and found a bunch of wires instead. The instructions (for easy install! haha) keep talking about removing the existing light. There are no instructions if you didn't have a light there before. So two parts to this question - 1. do they make a kind that has a normal plug on it? and 2. how much should I expect to pay an electrician to install the one I have?

I planted purple Verbena last month. It flourished and flowered for several weeks and then the blooms disappeared. It's been 3 weeks and still nothing, but the stems are strong and green and nothing is dried out. We've had good rains and I fertlized them. I've read that you don't have to "dead head" Verbena so do I just keep waiting and they will bloom again on their own? Thanks!!

I'm looking for a good solution to put on on the lawn in order to get rid of as much of the weeds as possible, but can't use any type of chemicals, as my dogs occupy the area. Any successful homemade ideas out there?! Thanks

For the last 3 years, at the end of May, large number of 1-2 inch black beetles with pinchers come out of the ground in my front yard for 2 evenings at least. Then, that's all, they're gone until the following year. A nursery guy sold me some stuff that I put on with a spreader and told me it would take care of the bugs. Guess what....they marched across the lawn last night.

Any ideas? I live in Ohio.

I have insects, that look like bumble bees, that are making small holes in my deck railings. I heard that they are called sergeant bees, but I haven't found anything about them. How do I get rid of them without calling an exterminator?

I am located in Michigan and have a pretty large perennial garden full of hybrid daylilies, coneflowers, coreopsis, hosta, etc. In any case, I have a front walk. Our soil is very sandy and we often have problems getting grass to take but perennials seem to do fine. I am looks for some flowering plants under a foot tall that would work well in those beds. Color is unimportant.
