I would call a flooring installer and refinisher. I have seen old parque flooring over one hundred years old that have very bad substances on the back side that most city organizations will not accept for garbage. This floor may require some sort of extra permits to remove and dispossal because of the contents on the backside. Please be advised. Call a professional.

That depends. is it real, done right on the floor, the store bought real wood tiles, or the fake vinyl ones.

If its real, leave it alone, if damaged fix it. if you really have to cover it up, real would be worth more than anything you could put down.

if its the storebought but real wood tiles, a heat gun and a wide prying device of some sort will do the trick, usually. once you get a couple out to get a start, play the heat gun at the edge of the next one, and pry up and let the heat get further and further under it. depending on what they were glued down with, it should work. after you get a couple loose, you may find that you can simply pry them loose. one of those tools made for taking shingles off a rough might work well.

if its the fake vinyl tile, again the heat gun should work. carefull not to burn it. the stink is bad and the vapors can be harmful.

Peel up a section with a hammer or something that is big enough to get a flat bladed shovel or a snow shovel into and then have at it. Parque flooring is usually just glued down so it shouldn't be too hard to peel it up. It just takes effort and time.
