You can try a weed killer on it, but if the woodruff is near anything else the weed killer will probably harm it, too.

Sweet woodruff is very popular and attractive as a ground cover, but can sometimes reach weed proportions when it starts to take over, sort of like vinca.

As with vinca, vigorous hand-pulling will work well on ridding yourself of any unwanted woodruff. Then you can take out only the plants you don't want. If there's a huge amount of it, try digging it first before hand-pulling. The roots are strong.

How could you not like Sweet Woodruff, It's one of our favorites!

But, that's why there are so many different plants, not everyone likes everything. I've found that it pulls up pretty easily and if you keep up with it, you can get rid of it that way. You could also use any of the plant killers on the market, although we don't know what you have growing next to the Sweet Woodruff, so be careful with those items.
