I live in the south (Arkansas) and found a nuisance weed in my yard, grows about an inch or less high, has small small leaves, and STICKERS. OUCH! When I kneel down or lay down on the grass, I get poked with these stickers. I didn't even know they were there until I did so. How do I get rid of these buggahs!??

I'm about to put primer on my bathroom walls before I paint them but first I need to sand everything down and I don't have any decent sandpaper. I'm just wondering if steel wool or anything else can be used as an good alternative?

I have been growing Kalachoe tubiflora and K. daigremontiana for years and feel its time to branch out. I'm fascinated by the pink/variegated K. hybrida and K. houghtonii, so cute! Has anyone been able to successfully grow the plantlets from either of these, since they don’t have much chlorophyll? Do they have different growing requirements as my other mother-of-thousands? Suggestions on where to purchase would also be appreciated!

When tiling a counter top, do you need to remove the existing covering? I am assuming that I would. If so, should I apply the tile directly to the plywood? Will the plywood be wide enough?

I read that plants that have been sprayed with pesticide cannot be added to compost. Why not? I am growing vegetables and a little pesticide is a must. I usually use all natural or organic pesticide and only use it sparingly. What would be so bad about putting this plant material in a compost bin?

On a Murray push mower, model 22541X92D. there is a spring that is attached to the throtel linkage, with the other end attaching to the choke/ governor. This end resembales a paper clip. My question is , what does this end attach to. At present it is on a loop found in the middle of the governor linkage., but this does not work the choke properly.

We had a toilet leak that went through to the basement ceiling. What is the average price for a contracted carpenter to come over and replace a small bathroom floor? (There is a bath/shower in this bathroom as well... does that matter?)

We never used to had that problem in the 5 years we've been composting. Apparently we now have a fly problem: For a few months, vegetable cuttings from the kitchen were added to the compost bin without turning the contents. Weather was warm, flies probably multiplied. I recently took-over the duty again from my husband and have always turned the compost each time that I add anything; but there are still a lot of little flies. Everytime I open the lid, flies bounce off my face.

Would it be safe for the slugs and hundreds of worms to spray an insecticide in the bin? Or is there another way to control the flies? The compost smells good -- just don't like those hundreds of little flies.
